For you, what does it mean to be a motorcycle stunter?

BEING A MOTORCYCLE STUNTER MEANS A LIFESTYLE FOR ME. THE PASSION FOR STUNT RIDING FLOWS IN MY BLOOD, MY HEART BEATS LIKE A ROARING ENGINE AND MY VEINS ARE ALWAYS FILLED WITH THE ADRENALINE, ALWAYS READY TO BE IN ACTION. A MOTORCYCLE IS AN INDEPENDENT THING. MY FIRST CAR WAS A MOTORCYCLE. BEING A BIKER IS MORE THEN WORDS AND ACTS. IT'S A STATE OF MIND, IN ONE WORD MOTORCYCLE MEANS EVERYTHING.

How has motorcycling changed you and your life?

MY MOTORCYCLE HAS TAUGHT ME COUNTLESS LESSONS.
AND IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE COMPLETELY AS MOTORCYCLE HAS BECOME THE REASON WHICH INTRODUCED ME TO THE WORLD. WHEN I WENT TO THE WORLD’S ONLY BIKING REALITY SHOW ‘PULSAR MTV STUNTMANIA UNDERGROUND’. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE BEING ON THE SHOW AND I PERFORMED THOSE STUNTS WHICH I HAVEN’T THOUGHT OF DOING EVEN IN MY DREAMS.
I MAY HAVE TO ADD AN ASTERISK TO THE SAYING THAT BUYING THINGS CAN'T MAKE YOU HAPPY. I BOUGHT A MOTORCYCLE, AND I'LL BE DAMNED IF IT HASN'T MADE ME ONE PERCENT HAPPIER THAN I USED TO BE. THEN AGAIN, WE ALL KNOW THAT SPENDING MONEY ON EXPERIENCES CAN MAKE YOU HAPPY. A MOTORCYCLE ISN'T JUST A VEHICLE TO MOVE YOU FROM PLACE TO PLACE-- IT'S AN EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME YOU RIDE IT.

How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in stunting on motorcycles?

EVERY PROFESSION HAS ITS OWN RISKS INVOLVED PROS N CONS ALONG SO I FEEL IT’S THE CONFIDENCE AND PRACTICE THAT ACTUALLY AVOIDS RISKS AND DANGERS IN MY PROFESSION. IT NEEDS A BIG HEART TO BELIEVE IN ROADS & BIKES AND MAINTAIN A PERFECT BALANCE.
I AGREE ABOUT RISK & DANGERS INVOLVED IN STUNTING ON MOTORCYCLE, BUT IF IT IS DONE IN EXPERT SUPERVISION AND WITH SAFETY GEARS ON, THE CHANCES OF DANGER IS MUCH LESS. EVERY SPORT HAS SOME OR THE OTHER DANGERS INVOLVED IN IT, SO DOES THIS ONE. IT IS WE WHO HAVE TO TACKLE THE RISK AND DANGER TO STAND. A GOOD RIDER HAS PERFECT BALANCE, JUDGMENT, AND GOOD TIMING. EVERYONE CRASHES. SOME GET BACK ON! SOME DON'T! SOME CAN'T!. I MUST SAY SAFETY IS A CHEAP INSURANCE POLICY, ACCIDENT HURT - SAFETY DOESN'T. SO PUT SAFETY ON TOP OF YOUR CHECKLIST BEFORE GETTING ON A MOTORCYCLE.

Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable stunt performances?

FIRST, WHEN I WAS DOING THE SURVIVAL STUNT IN STUNTMANIA NAMED ‘NO MANS LAND’, IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE THIS SHOW GAVE ME SUCH A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO DO SUCH WONDERFUL STUNT WHICH I HAVEN’T THOUGHT OF DOING EVEN IN MY DREAMS. THERE WERE BLASTING GOING ON ALL AROUND, CAR EXPLODING AND BLOWING UP HIGH IN THE AIR. IT WAS SO AMAZING THAT IT STILL FLASHES IN MY EYES.

SECOND, WHEN I WAS PERFORMING A STUNT SHOW IN MY OWN COLLEGE IN BHOPAL. THE CROWD WENT CRAZY AND JUMPED OFF THE BARRICADE IN THE EXCITEMENT. PEOPLE WERE DANCING AND SHOUTING MY NAME. IT WAS THE BEST FEELING I HAVE EVER HAD. I THANKED GOD THAT PEOPLE LOVES ME SO MUCH. GIRLS WERE RUSHING INTO EACH OTHER TO STAY IN THE FRONT ROW. IT WAS HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE HERE BECAUSE OF ME. IT WAS LIKE AS IF I WAS DREAMING, IT FELT REALLY GREAT.

What has been the biggest highlight of your racing career so far?

RACING! IT'S IN MY BLOOD. IT'S PART OF ME, IT'S PART OF MY LIFE; I HAVE BEEN DOING IT ALL MY LIFE AND IT STANDS OUT ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE. I PARTICIPATED IN FEW RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND ALSO GOT A CHANCE TO BE TRAINED BY DILIP ROGGER WHO IS ONE OF THE INDIA’S TOP MOST INTERNATIONAL SUPER BIKE RACER. HE IS THE THE FIRST ASIAN AND INDIAN WHO COMPETED IN GERMAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ENDURANCE RACE. THERE I RODE DUCATI, SUZUKI, APRILIA, HONDA, YAMAHA, ALMOST EVERY SUPERBIKE. I AM PRACTICING ON HONDA CBR AND AIMING FOR THE MOTOGP.

As a stunter, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?

WE ARE MADE WISE NOT BY THE RECOLLECTION OF OUR PAST, BUT BY THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR FUTURE. WITH ALL THE FAME I GOT FROM STUNTMANIA, HELPED ME A LOT IN CONTRIBUTING TO THE SOCIETY AS I HAVE BEEN A PART OF MANY CHARITY SHOWS FOR ORPHANS, BLINDS AND OLD AGE PEOPLE. IT WAS THE BEST OF THE BEST FEELING I HAD FROM INSIDE WHEN I MET THOSE PEOPLE. I WAS GLAD THAT I HAD BEEN THE REASON FOR THEIR SMILE. IT'S NOT HOW MUCH WE GIVE BUT HOW MUCH LOVE WE PUT INTO GIVING.
I HAVE ALSO BEEN THE PART OF PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS, IN WHICH I HAVE DISCUSSED SAFETY MEASURES REQUIRED WHILE RIDING A MOTORCYCLE AND IMPORTANCE OF HELMET ETC. I HAVE DONE SOME RADIO SHOWS ABOUT SAFETY AND AWARENESS ON ROADS AS WELL.

What are the best and the worst things about motorcycle stunting in India?

SINCE EVERY COIN AS TWO ASPECTS SIMILARLY STUNTING CAN NOT BE CONSIDERED AS A BAD THING.
STILL THE BEST THINGS ARE FEW BUT THE WORST THINGS ARE MANY. IN INDIA, THERE ARE MANY PROBLEMS LIKE ACCIDENTS, LACK OF SAFETY MEASURES, GOVERNMENT SUPPORT, PROPER TRACK FOR STUNTING AND PERFORMING. TO TELL A FEW GOOD THINGS ABOUT MOTORCYCLE STUNTING IN INDIA, I WILL SAY THAT THE CROWD IS VERY SUPPORTIVE AND CRAZY FOR BIKE STUNTS. FOR EVERY PROFESSIONAL HIS OR HER PROFESSION IS THE BEST BUT STILL THE DARKER SIDE OF IT CAN NOT BE NEGLECTED.
MOREOVER MOTORCYCLE STUNTING IN INDIA IS STILL CONSIDERED AS A SOCIAL TABOO RATHER THAN A PROFESSION. THE PROFESSION PART IS MISSING FROM THE SOCIETY AS WELL AS FROM THE BIKERS. HOWEVER THE MINDSET IS GRADUALLY CHANGING BUT STILL THE MOON IS VERY FAR FROM US.

Golden Question : How do you feel when you ride?

RIDING A MOTORCYCLE IS LIKE FLYING. ALL YOUR SENSES ARE ALIVE, EYES WIDE OPEN AND INCREASING HEARTBEAT. IT FEELS LIKE THE BIKE IS AN EXTENSION OF YOUR OWN BODY. ACTUALLY THAT CAN EXTEND TO THE ROAD TOO. A LONG RIDE DOWN A CURVY ROAD SLOWLY ENFORCES THAT FEELING UNTIL YOU ARE LIVING IN THE MOMENT JUST YOU THE BIKE AND THE ROAD ALL ONE AS YOU PREPARE FOR EACH CORNER BY SLOWING A BIT OR DOWNSHIFTING AND THEN HITTING JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF THROTTLE TO CARVE A PERFECT TURN. AND WHILE STUNTING IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE GOT WINGS. IT GIVES YOU THE FEELING THAT YOUR’RE NOT JUST RIDING HARD BUT FLYING LOW’. BRAKE AND THROTTLE BECOMES BRIDLE WHICH CONTROLS THE UNTAMED BEAST. IT'S A FEELING WHICH CAN'T BE EXPRESSED IN WORDS AND ONLY A BIKER CAN UNDERSTAND IT.
