For you, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?
To be a motorcyclist means to go past the traffic, throttling my way riding on footpaths, without getting worried of being stuck in traffic jams, and braving all the weathers,(whether scorching heat, breezy cold,or heavy rains)to reach my destination without waiting for the traffic to clear off.
How has motorcycling changed you and your life?
motorcycling has given me an essential means of travelling, sometimes reaching my college on time, and sometimes hanging out with friends, and the freedom to go anywhere at anytime just by revving up the throttle.
How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in long distance touring on motorcycles?
Although there are certain amount of risks involved in long distance touring, but the joy and pride of riding my mean machine gives me a great amount of pleasure.Being safe on your part does not complete the purpose, rather we should wear proper safety gear, such as a good helmet, jacket, knee guards etc., as other drivers on road are not going to be as cautious as you. A proper kit should be carried ,which includes, water bottle, something to eat, first aid kit etc.The joy of riding long routes takes it to the next level.
Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable motorcycle tours?
The first motorcycle tour was to Haridwar, with my friends. And the second one was to Shimla, via Chandigarh. This has been the most memorable tour for me,as my bike was only 5 months old,and i was also new at biking, and riding for such a long distance,on those open highways, getting a chance to open the throttle of my bike ,and then riding on those mountaneous roads, with snow everywhere was an awesome experience for me.Those cold winds and the amazing weather, and my bike giving me the confidence of going more and more miles, with that engine grunt, gave me immense pleasure and joy.
As a motorcycle tourer, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?
I plan to form a group with my friends and plan trips every year on our bikes,to different places on the far-away routes .
What are the best and the worst things about motorcycle touring in India?
Best thing are the long open highways, and worst things are the senseless drivers driving recklessly on the roads.
Golden Question : How do you feel when you ride?
When I ride,I feel like flying, like there is no stopping to me and my bike.I feel more confident when I ride my bike,as it has never let me down, and has always taken to me wherever I wanted to,without giving any problems,as if it is always ready to go wherever I wish to,and also, with the thrill and joy of going past the traffic, going past the waterlogged roads without giving up,and never leaving me in a position where I feel helpless. It acts like my sibling, and gives me a feeling of comfort, confidence, excitement and joy.
