For you, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?
Being a motorcyclist, I feel my soul is riding bike and not the body. I feel riding is for liberation of soul which gives a chance a freedom in one's life. To me, being a biker is not just riding a bike but feeling it as a part of ours and loving it as much one loves oneself. Mainly it is about respecting the machine, taming it to achieve wonders.

How has motorcycling changed you and your life?
Motorcycling has threw me challenges in life and has made me tough. The times of riding especially in a place which is strange and complete new, Biking taught me to make new friends, appreciate other cultures, enjoy the nature's creation. This is the best part of Biking according to me.

Life tested you severely and motorcycling helped you to fight back – tell us that story of courage and inspiration.
The severe blow to my life is losing my dragon( my R15) in an attempt of endurance ride. But the irony is that instead of proving myself as a tough rider, I turned into a tough guy who came to know the hard realities of life. But still Biking has always helped me choose my freedom. The most passionate goal of my life turned into a nightmare because i also witnessed the dark side of biking. But i overcame the fear and continued riding. I liberate myself by riding to new places. Recently yesterday i returned from a 1600 km ride.

Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable life events involving motorcycles?
One is the ride to Coorg through Kodagu forest region in the night. As an amateur rider. I mistook the route to be the highway but that day has taught me many lessons of both biking and life. Composure, determination to keep going in
spite of odds, having faith in machine were the lessons. Second is ride to Kanyakumari through Kerala. I felt blessed to have riding among the picture of serene beauty of nature that still reminds me of the sweetest memories of riding.

As a motorcyclist, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?
I believe in biking as not just riding a bike, but to love it and also live it. Safe biking is my motto and I will also make rides to spread this message. Little bit of awareness would change the scenario of biking in India. I wish to create and spread the awareness. I educate brothers the essential needs of the riding gear and I give them my personal example to prove it.

What are the best and the worst things about motorcycling in India?
Best thing is that we have resources to be part of professional Biking. I mean good roads, latest bikes, awesome places to ride to and most of all a Great brotherhood of Biking is existing in India. The other side is that many people have a negative idea of Biking as a passion. It has developed in them because of the incidents which have occurred due to negligence of riders that have costed their lives. The scenario is changing and wish it would be fast.

Golden Question : How do you feel when you ride?
The sound of the bike seems to be like humming, road looks like the paradise and heart realizes the bliss of watching beauty of nature on two wheels. The wind at a place welcomes you, greeting with its local traditions and culture. The soul of a place is felt when I feel the freedom on two wheels that liberates me. Finding new brothers, watching new cultures, witnessing India in action is what I feel when riding. I wish to see all India on two wheels.

How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in riding on motorcycles?
Technology has always been a double edged sword. No development has proved completely safe. Its about taking precautions and being alert that changes the perception of people on technology. Biking is not an exception and come with inherent dangers and risks but it is not a complete failure story. Bikers are not just a bunch of people who ride motorcycles. It is more than that. They take measures to avoid failure, be cautious, spread awareness and ride responsibly on roads. Risk is inevitable in any part of one's life. But the passion towards a safe and secure biking is the dream of every biker.
