For you, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?
MOTORCYCLIST: for me is person who is in love with his/her motorcycle and enjoys travelling from one place to other experiencing mother nature at her best & worst. it's about loving the curves on the road more than the curves on the girl's body...its about attaining nirvana just by hearing your engine roar.
How has motorcycling changed you and your life?
They say the road has answers to everything.... but I have no questions.. I am confused on my identity....my corporate life....happiness.... freedom...... the only thing am sure is that MY DESTINY IS MY DECISION......
With this thought in my mind.. I decided to hit the road...with no idea where to go...but I had decided I have to GO.......!!!! and i have been riding daily as this thought always lingers in my mind...
Trust me riding has changed my attitude and from a core introvert changed to an extrovert..
How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in long distance touring on motorcycles?
Danger and risk are something which everyone faces in their lives everyday ..walking on the road, travelling in mumbai local everyday to office..and the list goes on.. life is a prepaid card which comes with a validity... but having said all this one must always take precautions and calculated risk..tour on ur motorbike, but be cautious, dnt exert yourself, its human to have fatigue , give ur body rest..and most importantly learn the basics of repairing ur bike.
Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable motorcycle tours?
Trip 1: my first long trip (long as I had started riding then ) JP Nagar blore to Nanadi Hills bangalore..my ride Hero Honda CBZ... had left early morning..in cold weather in blore to see the fog at nandi hills.. it was an amazing trip and would also cherish the ride which I had with my friends.
Trip 2: solo biking trip.. Mumbai to dandeli.. My ride Honda CBR 250R ..exploring the forests of dandeli and back... covered close to 2100 kms in 3 days... it was the recent and most exciting ..
"Its not the miles/kms that you cover makes the difference.. its the number of mesmerizing moments and experiences which makes the road trip cherishing ...
As a motorcycle tourer, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?
Particiapted in the ride for safety campaign ride in mumbai. I also ensure that I always follow the traffic rules and never break traffic signals.
I ensure whenever am riding I wear a helmet. For long rides complete protective gear. Also I ensure whenever am on the highway and I see a rider on the road and needs help .. I stop and extend my help.. Never leave a fellow biker who is in need unattended..
A biker in need is a biker indeed !!!
What are the best and the worst things about motorcycle touring in India?
The Best: India is a very big country .. with different landscapes and climate.. you can never go to a place and say " THIS IS INDIA" ... The dynamics..culture .. people change.from east to west , north to south.. we can explore various cusines, roads and lifestyle.. wherever I go I usually end up saying "THIS IS ALSO INDIA" and am a proud Indian to say this.
The worst..is obviously the conditions of roads and unexpected potholes ... :(
Golden Question : How do you feel when you ride?
Just a single word "ORGASMIC" .... There is no other word that can explain this better.
