For you, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?

Motorcycling is my Religion.
I love my bike and she loves me with the same passion.
We understand each other quite well, being in love with a machine is such an incredible feeling that can not be expressed with words.Even if you are traveling alone, motorcycling is a team event. Its you and your bike, the best partners for ever.
I belong to a clan of humans who bond with each other very easily and i carry the flag of brotherhood where ever i go.Go any where,go every where and go erase the borders.

How has motorcycling changed you and your life?

Motorcycling has helped me to discover my selves. It made me independent, stronger and confident.I can easily connect to people to help, understand and ask for help. The fear that we all carry of the fellow humans is no more in me.The control over power and speed exhilarates me and at the same time being safe is very important.I developed this 6th sense while riding which always guides me to be in control of the situation.
Motorcycling helps me to keep fit.I practice yoga and meditation and this helps me to adapt to harsh weathers, increase my immunity and endurance levels.

How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in long distance touring on motorcycles?

There is danger in every step of our life, take it for crossing a busy road, cooking, taking an elevator,Going to party and so on,but we do not restrain from doing them. One can argue that these are basic requirements to lead a life and hence we should some how do it in-spite of all the risks involved in it.According to me how we do it is more important. We have to follow traffic rules while crossing the road, follow safety guideline while operating cooking gas, stove and elevator,be responsible while partying.Similarly there are dangers and risks involved in long distance touring on motorcycle.I feel "Be Cautious" and "Be Prepared" are the two things which helped me overcome the dangers and risks involved in long distance motorcycling. One should be practically prepared to handle situations like Puncture, breakdown, accident, tiredness and theft.

Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable motorcycle tours?

I just wanted to ride as far as i can in India and ended up covering 8300km starting from Hampi-Bangalore-Hubli-Pune-Indore-Gwalior-Mathura-Agra-Ambala-Amritsar-Manser-Srinagar-Sonmarg-Kargil-LEH-Khardungla Pass-Keilong-Manali-Khurukshetra-Jhansi-Pachmarhi-Nagpur-Hyderabad-Toranagallu (Hampi). I took 39 days to cover this. It is during this journey i was touched by a lot people and their stories. The happiness on the faces of people after listening to my story of road trip kept my spirits high.I explored the remotest parts of my country on my bike. Climbing the snow capped mountains, crossing the pristine rivers, passing through dense forests and hot desert kept me close to nature.I did this with my hard earned savings and earned leaves.

As a motorcycle tourer, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?

My road trip in India, riding 8300km, passing through the world's highest motor-able road. People whom i met on my way and my people back in town and my-selves realized that India is a great place to travel and explore on bike.I participated in the Motorcycle Travelers Meet India July 27-28 2013.It was a good platform to share my biking experiences in India and encourage budding bikers to take up biking as a serious passion.
An article on my travel, penned by me was published in the Connect Magazine of JSW STEEL LTD. This article touched and inspired a many.I believe that my next road trip covering a distance of 30,000 km crossing international borders will help me reaching out to a lot of people across the world and spread the message of love and brotherhood.

What are the best and the worst things about motorcycle touring in India?

Funniest Part- I have pretty long hairs and guys always take me granted for a girl and chase me, try to overtake me and finally I love to see the disappointment on their faces. Not to forget about the truck drivers these guys are just anxious to see who is in side the helmet.
I could imagine the hassles a female biker would face in India. I love to encourage female bikers. They are a good combination of beauty, beast and power.I started with my sister but not successful yet.
The sad part of riding in India is not every one appreciates the idea and encourages it.Individuals like me hardly get sponsors for long distance and overland biking.

Golden Question : How do you feel when you ride?

When i ride on my bike crossing borders, meeting people from different cultures, trying to understand and communicate in their language, a sense of hallucination percolates in to me.I feel no borders, no language and culture barrier, Mother earth and her offspring is all I know.I feel accepted by mother Earth.
