For you as a woman, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?

It means a lot for me, I really enjoy myself when I am riding a bike. I love to see when people look at me with their shocking eyes because in India there are very few females who can ride a bike.

How has motorcycling changed you and your life?

Motorcycling has created a lot of self confidence in me, In India there are very few females who drive bikes. I think bike is the most convenient vehicle in India as mode of transport, so if I want to travel it becomes very convenient, time and money saving.

How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in motorcycling?

If you are driving it considering all the safety measures like wearing Helmet, follow the speed limits etc, I don’t think then there is any risk involved in motorcycling.

Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable incidents involving you as a motorcyclist?

• 1st incidence - One day I had gone to pick my baby from her School, she was very happy to see me on the bike and started telling her friend - “See my Mamma drives a bike as I was telling you in the class room but you were not believing me. Now tell?” hearing her I felt that my baby is so proud of me as her mother who can drive a bike unlike other kids mother.

• 2nd incidence - Once I had gone to my relatives place for some puja and while coming back all my other relatives saw me riding a bike, they all got shocked and requested me to teach them.

As a motorcyclist, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?

In India there are many people who treats woman to just be at home to take care of their family members and kids. Many female think that it’s their duty which they have to do it and forgets about their own wish / dreams. My driving will not help them but atleast it will inspire them to take an initiative to fulfill their own wish/dreams.
