For you, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?
i feel alive when i am speeding past object whether they be stationary or in motion. the adrenaline of speed is what i love most about motorcycling, i know motorcycling is not just about speed but speed and cornering is my cup of tea. i have no fixed time table or reason for riding, i just do it when i want to( 2 to 3 times a day other then commuting :D) biking is my life. i dont know what am i going to do if i dont become a successful racer in my life. that all i have ever wanted to be i never wanted to be anything else, not an engineer or architect or pilot( though racing is piloting on road)
How has motorcycling changed you and your life?
i was about 12 when i first started riding on my dads bajaj 2-stroke scooter, thats when i was introduced to this world of freedom and adrenaline. at 14 i was flipping channels on the television and saw this guy riding on a track and others of his specie chased him from the back. the style they rode( all the weight-shifting etc.) attracted me the most, and those loud erotic sounds were enough to startle a ghost.that was the day motorcycling left a permanent tattoo on my head. even though i did not have a bike, i was a biker from then.
How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in track racing on motorcycles?
i wont say motorcycling is dangerous, i would rather say motorcycling can be dangerous( if you act irresponsible or unsafe). the possible dangers can always be avoided in motorcycling by keeping a few things in mind like wearing proper and quality riding gear( a basic tip), always keep brainstorming about the possible panicky encounters and your actions to avoid them, keeping calm and being smooth on the bike, watching yourself as well as other road users.
Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable track events?
i feel ashamed to say this but i have zero track experience, reason being high expenses ( i don't have any job and my parents wont give me any money for racing. though i will be participating in the track-day you guys are organizing on 17 of august 2013 and see how i perform, but i am pretty sure i wont be that bad. i just hope i do good in that event and xbhp helps me out in realizing my dream (if i deserve it).
What has been the biggest highlight of your racing career so far?
As a track racer, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?
i definitely plan on riding for causes with other bikers for society and brotherhood. once i am strong enough to give back, i will.
What are the best and the worst things about motorcycle racing in India?
the best thing about motorcycle racing in india according to me in is that it is growing in india rapidly but on the other hand it is only accessible to racers with heavy pockets, a hometown in southern india or a bike of specific make/model( eg the cbr championship, stunner cup, or tvs racing championship etc).. being the worst part.
Golden Question : How do you feel when you ride?
powerful, excited, heroic, alive, happy. no matter how may adjectives i have, i still wont be able to describe that feeling of moving forward with a pace that your wrist decides and turning into a corner with the knee scraping the tarmac.
