For you, what does it mean to be a motorcyclist?
Motorcycles are passion, obsession, freedom, aliveness, obedience and thrills. Riding is feeling every stroke in your veins. It is a Lifestyle which I have chosen to Life till every mile I can conquer on 2 wheels. The sense of Freedom it gives me everytime I turn on the ignition is surreal. My Bike completes as without my bike my body has no soul. Motorcycling is not just doing from point A to Point B, its all about the fun I can have with my Bike. The fun of watching the world pass by, winds hitting my face, purity in every ride and seeing those envious faces walking on the road its that perfect pleasure which get everytime i Ride.
How has motorcycling changed you and your life?
Motorcycling has thought me to live free. Everybody knows how to survive but only Bikers know how to live free and thats how it changed my Life. It teaches me to be responsible in every possible way whether on roads or off it. It made me competitive, showed different aspects for facing situations, brotherhood, respecting every other biker. Most importantly it thought me Love and passion. Love for Bikes and Passion for Riding and Racing.
How would you justify the inherent dangers and risk involved in riding on motorcycles?
Life on two wheels is very risky. A single wrong move can be very hazardous. From a small bruise to death anything is possible. Its important for a biker to respect the limits of bike. For the thrills and fun of riding one just cannot put their and also others life in danger. Theres very less room for error on Bikes. Even if it may not be the bikers mistake, without a proper safety gear, it will cost you dearly.
Tell us briefly about your 2 most memorable life-incidents involving you as a motorcyclist?
Every mile ive done till date have been really memorable but those moments that are there for life are
1)Nov 2007, the day when for the very first time of my life took the top step of the podium at one of the local dirt race. After several participations and podium that was the day I saw the glory of finishing 1st.
2)2011, Just a typical sunday morning ride but it wasnt typical for me. The day when I finally saw life at 250kph. Riding friends R1 went Flat out on empty road and I couldnt get better opportunity to try that. Still gives me goosebumps everytime i think about it. SURREAL!!!
As a motorcyclist, how have you contributed to the society/brotherhood and plan to do so in the years to come?
As a biker its important for me to make other Bikers aware of safety. Not just in terms of riding gears but also to follow road rules so that one doesnt put others life in danger. I make my bikers to compulsorily adhere to all rules and safety. Have been actively participated in Road Safety rallies organised by a friend to spread the awareness.
What are the best and the worst things about motorcycling in India?
India is yet to get the exposure to Motorcycles/Riding and Motorsports. We lack in the Infrastructure required to give boost to Motorcyclists/Racers. The Duties that Indians have to shell out to any import vehicle burns holes in pockets. Theres also lack of awareness in terms of safety and limits. The Good part is that we have some really amazing places to ride. Enjoy natures beauty with best companion. Theres a Brotherhood with all the bikers we are united by bikes.
